

Max Ater is an actor, musician, and writer based in Southern Maine. He started acting in 2020 and has since worked acros a range of projects including independent film, sketch comedy, and music videos. His screen credits include Chapman Speaks and Millennium’s Eve, and he has worked extensively with student filmmakers at Maine Media College.
Alongside his acting work, Max runs a music studio in Southern Maine where he works as a composer, singer, and audio engineer. He has released original music that has found an audience throughout New England. His background growing up on the coast of Maine — playing piano from an early age, getting involved in community theatre, and eventually writing and performing his own music — feeds into the way he approaches creative work across disciplines.
He continues to collaborate with emerging filmmakers and take on projects that span different formats and genres, bringing his experience in both music and storytelling to whatever he’s working on.
